About two years ago I had the opportunity to work on Madagascar 2 as a character designer. The amazing Dreamworks/PDI art department was led by, production designer, Kendal Cronkhite. I had the honor to work closely with character designers Craig Kellman and Andy Bialk. Congrats to the entire crew!

The film premieres this Friday, November 7. Go check it out! Also, The Art of Madagascar book by Jerry Beck is now available. The book is full of beautiful artwork. I highly recommend it.

Love it! The thing I liked most about the Madagascar movies has been the way everything has been stylized: the swirls for the nostrils, the super thick trees with the tiny branches, how everything has an rounded off edge. I saw the book in the store the other day, just full of great studies and sketches - will definately pick it up soon, great job!!
